As severe weather events continue to increase due to climate change, Indigenous communities and their allies fight against the Enbridge Line 3 pipeline, which is but one point in a global fight to maintain a habitable planet. In Minnesota today, much like the privatized police forces seen at Standing Rock several years ago, Enbridge funds an account the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission set up to reimburse law enforcement for expenses acting as security for the tar sands oil pipeline which would double the capacity of it's predecessor at a time when we should be doing the opposite of increasing extraction of fossil fuels. Opponents of the Enbridge Line 3 pipeline, from Indigenous communities to Hollywood celebrities, are urging the Biden administration to intervene to stop construction - which he still has the ability to do.
