There is a brief discussion of her incredible life and we also discuss her 1909 work The Social Basis of the Woman Question, where she makes a break from the liberal feminism of her day to establish the foundation for a Marxist and socialist feminism. Just a chill news ep where the gang talks about the SCOTUS decision overturning the rights of half the population and why it's time for a new constitution...and a social revolution, obvi.

In this first episode of interviewing socialist politicians, Jorge interviews Stephanie Gallardo, a Democratic Socialist running for U.S. Congress in Washington's 9th Congressional District. Stephanie is a Seattle native who is a teacher, union leader, and a DSA endorsed candidate for office. Stephanie's campaign is distinct from many running for office because she is running on an explicitly anti-imperialist platform. For her, being an anti-imperialist is personal for the U.S. intervention in Chile led to her family needing to escape the Pinochet regime. Furthermore, she is pro-Palestinian sovereignty and is as an abolitionist. Be sure to listen to this interview with Stephanie Gallardo.

In light of the current impasse and recent events in America, the ELC crew is joined by Marvin Gonzalez to talk about his new essay about how to think about our current "conjuncture". Marvin is the newest member of the National Political Committee of DSA, which is the highest national body of the organization. He is also the President of the Campaign Workers Guild, a labor union representing campaign workers. Furthermore, he has served on the Secretariat for DSA's International Committee and he was a member of the monumental DSA delegation to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. Find out how you too can make sense of this trash-fire of a society we currently live in.

In this exciting conclusion to our series on State and Revolution, the ELC crew engages with Chapter 6, which is Lenin's summary of different arguments had by his contemporaries. Lenin dissects arguments made by reformist Marxists like Georgi Plekhanov and Karl Kautsky, contemporary anarchist thought, and "left Radicals" like Antonie Pannekoek. He simultaneously attacks those he calls opportunists like Kautsky, while distinguishing his position from those of Anarchists. What is the difference between Marxism and Anarchism? Why did Lenin leave State and Revolution unfinished? Jamie, Jorge, and Aaron discuss.
