For all the talk of American exceptionalism, we can't seem to do anything great. Today, eight people are dead in a mass shooting in San Jose and our elected official are clueless about how to fix that problem. And despite the plethora of cop shows on TV showing amazing forensic work from various law enforcement agencies around the county, the reality is that the work is pretty flawed. Good thing the shooter today was killed, because from what I'm reading in Brandon L. Garrett's new book, "Autopsy of a Crime Lab: Exposing the Flaws in Forensics", we might not have been able to catch him. Brandon L. Garrett is my guest today on the show.
