Nicole Sandler has worked in radio her entire adult life. After a successful career in music radio in NY and Los Angeles (WPLJ, KLOS, KSCA and others), she returned to talk radio to host mornings on then-progressive talk WINZ/Miami. After a flip to sports, she moved to Air America Radio for a nightly show. It's June 19 - Juneteenth - a holiday I learned nothing about as a child. But it's the anniversary of the day in 1865 on which slavery finally ended in the United States. In what is likely not a coincidence, a House Judiciary today is holding hearings on reparations, an issue I wanted to hear from listeners about. So I opened the phone lines for a couple of great calls.
