Azzie Mekhitarian is a full-time faculty member in the Social Sciences Division at Pasadena City College. Professor Mekhitarian teaches Political Science with a focus on American Government and Comparative Politics. She was a faculty member at East Los Angeles College and a former professor of Communications at Woodbury University where she taught undergraduate courses in Communications and graduate courses in Politics, Media, and Social Justice. Her primary areas of research are American Government and Comparative Government with an emphasis on women’s rights in the developing world. Currently, she is researching the correlation between equality and violence during government transitions. Prior to joining the academic community, Azzie was a journalist who covered current affairs and world news.

Kim Kelly writes a labor column at Teen Vogue. Her work has also appeared in The Baffler, The New Republic, Pitchfork, and NPR. She is currently writing a book about labor.
