Jamie and Aaron go over Marx's 1875 essay "Critique of the Gotha Program," in which he gives some spicy takes on the platform proposed by the Social Democratic Workers' Party of Germany (SDAP) and the General German Workers' Association (ADAV) as they prepared to unite into one party at a conference held in the city of Gotha. In it, he warns against the reformism and revisionism injected by the ADAV's late leader Ferdinand LaSalle and clarifies what an uncompromising communist vision looks like. The crew summarizes Marx's critique before discussing its modern day relevance.

Hey guys, amazing show (no reservations)! Simply in the interest a few suggestions which I hope will be of value: 1. I am def not able to read all the texts, but it might be cool if I knew which ones were coming down the line, so if I had a bit of time I could try and read before hand (this makes the episodes so much more enjoyable having an idea of the topics and issues covered). 2. This might be more of a "me thing", but I found it a bit harder to follow along the discussion on the second text (understandable I haven't read it like capital), but it may be of some use to lay down a better descriptions of (some of?) the main ideas and topics covered in the text first and then follow with the excerpts after the fact as opposed to moving through the text linearly (front to back)- this might help with internalizing the concepts and making the texts more meaningful for the listener. Again, I love the show and if you kept it as is, that's also 100% cool.
