It's the Monday after an insane week and an even crazier weekend. To ease back into the new week, we bring you Monday Music! We begin the show as usual with the latest news and all the info to get you all caught up. Then we let the music speak!
Today, I'm thrilled to welcome The Immediate Family. And yes, you know them! Some of the very best, legendary studio musicians and side-men in the business have finally joined together to step out in front. Danny Kortchmar, Waddy Wachtel, Leland Sklar, Russ Kunkel and Steve Postel are The Immediate Family. We'll all attempt to be on the air together today from our respective homes. Music Mondays, to soothe our souls...

Today is Juneteenth, the anniversary of the day when the last group of slaves learned about the Emancipation Proclamation, 2 1/2 years after Lincoln signed it, finally ending slavery in America. It's time to make this day a national holiday. I'll ask Congressman Eric Swalwell about that when he joins me at the bottom of the hour to talk about his new book, "Endgame: Inside the Impeachment of Donald J. Trump" and more!

Who would have thought that we'd have two days of good news from the Supreme Court this week? After the good news (and some not-so-great news too), we check in with Howie Klein of Down with Tyranny and the Blue America PAC for our weekly get-together. Today, Andrew Romanoff, the progressive candidate for the Democratic nomination for US Senate from Colorado joins us!

Today is the third time I've had the honor of interviewing John Perkins and I can honestly say that he's one of the most fascinating people I've spoken with over the years. The same guy who gave us "Confessions of an Economic Hit Man" now tells us about his inner journey taken over a lifetime and helps us to embark on a similar quest. His new book is "Touching the Jaguar: Transforming Fear Into Action to Change Your Life and the World". It's quite brilliant and exactly what we need to hear and read at this very strange moment in history.

I've lost track of the number of weeks we've been safely staying at home, but it's been a while. One cool silver lining of the pandemic has been the creativity with which people are communicating-- not counting the idiots who are acting as if the danger has passed. We're halfway through 2020, and things have just gotten even more surreal with three weeks of protests and a sea change in attitudes toward race relations and policing. Needless to say, GottaLaff's Twitter feed has been scrolling nonstop. It's Tuesday, so Laffy is here to talk about the news with me during her "Tweet Spot"....
