I was dreading this Friday the 13th because, after all, this is 2020. But it's turning out to be a pretty good day! The major news organizations all today finally called the races that were outstanding. With GA going to Biden, the final electoral vote tally is 306-232, the same numbers that saw Trump beating Clinton in 2016. An outcome he called a landslide! I had originally invited Thomas Frank -journalist, historian, and author (The People, No among others) to join me on Nov. 4, the day after the election. Because of a flight delay he couldn't make it that day. But he joins us today, the day the race is called. Sometimes thing work out the way they're supposed to!

Howie Klein is the guy behind the Blue America PAC. They identify great progressive candidates and raise money to support the best ones to help get them into office. The key word there is PROGRESSIVE. He's my regular guest every Thursday afternoon. Today we'll look at the races that are still uncalled, and at how the Democrats screwed up so horribly. Thankfully, we overwhelmingly voted for Joe Biden, so we're ousting Trump. But Democrats down ballot didn't benefit from those votes. We'll talk about what went wrong and more!

Today is November 11 - Veterans Day. I found some old papers of my dad's from his time in the Army that I'll share as we begin today's show. Yesterday, the Supreme Court heard the third challenge to the Affordable Care Act. We were nervous, as the court is now the most conservative it's been in decades. But we got a somewhat pleasant surprise from the comments of both Brett Kavanaugh and CJ John Roberts..and even Samuel Alito! Our guest today is health insurance industry whistleblower Wendell Potter, who has been fighting along with progressives for Medicare for All since he first testified before Congress in 2009.

GottaLaff joins me every Tuesday afternoon for some fun with the news. We've spent the last four years agonizing over the fact that Donald Trump was in the White House, and worrying about making it through his time in office. Today we get to celebrate that WE WON! Of course, he's an asshole that doesn't know the meaning of the word magnanimous, so he's refusing to concede. Laffy and I will discuss all the news of the day, including the latest from the man who would be dictator and the cavalry coming in to save us (Biden and Harris). And we got a call from Donald Trump (J-L Cauvin), who was looking for Ivanka.

When we last met on Friday, it was apparent that Joe Biden would be the 46th President of the United States, but none of the usual suspects would make the call. So it dragged on for another day before CNN called Pennsylvania for Biden, pushing his total of Electoral College Votes past the 270 needed to win. And the other news organizations all fell into place. The only entities not willing to concede that Trump lost are the Trump campaign and administration. I'll spend most of the show today bringing you up to speed on what happened this weekend and today, and try to figure out what happens next. In the last segment of today's show, I'm joined by an old friend, musician Marvin Etzioni, co-founder of the band Lone Justice. Marvin has a new album out, "What's the Mood of the Country Now?" and it works for this moment in history. We'll meld the world of music and politics and see where it takes us...
