Every Friday, we do an episode focused on women’s issues. On this #FemFriday episode, Nomiki opens by talking about the significance of Georgia Rep. Park Cannon being taken away in handcuffs for knocking on Gov. Brian Kemp’s door, as he signed a piece of legislation making it harder for people to vote. Then, Suyapa Portillo explains the violence against women and LGBT people in Honduras, and how that violence is perpetrated by the state. For today’s panel, Esperanza Fonseca and Sue-Ling Braun join to talk about exciting feminist progress in New Zealand, as well as systemic problems like housing insecurity, economic abuse of women, and police brutality.
